Perplexed

I often find myself perplexed at the world
When love and joy take a seat and allow chaos to rule
Best morals often lose and allow cruelty to run rampant

Let not what has been done, but rather be a fervent student of love

Do not let them take your voice, be strong when you speak

Be someone’s hero, never the monster that prays to slaughter the weak

Be that light that blinds and to relish a mysterious wonder

I have been writing poetry since a teenager but did not have the courage to really show it off. It wasn't until I had some tools as I battled depression and mental illness. They are still a part of me, which you will see for yourself. My writing is dark and raw.
